We're going to watch a video produced by the BBC entitled The Story of Gospel Music, The Power in the Voice. I think it will make a good transition as we move back from our quick look at Bruce Springsteen to the sources of his musical style and the ideas and movements which were so important in creating both Praise Music and Protest Music. The film will take the whole class, perhaps a little more, depending on how quick I can get it set up. In the meantime, I'd like you to get started on this week's readings, which we won't discuss until Thursday the 21St.
